Jacob Trinh - Trinh Eats
One of four sons of a hard-working immigrant mother, Jacob emerged at a very young age as his family’s go-to cook, a natural proclivity he further cultivated via vocational high school and Philadelphia’s Careers Through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP). His talent and drive earned him a full scholarship to Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island, where he began examining his heritage through the lens of food. While stints at Providence’s North, New York’s Momofuku Ssam Bar, and Philadelphia’s Vernick Fish helped the young chef grow his professional skills, his time spent learning Vietnamese dishes from his grandmother expanded the possibilities even more. Jacob has carved out a retail niche, developing his signature TrinhEats XO sauce, which caught the attention of KYW Newsradio, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and hundreds of loyal online followers. He is currently the Executive Chef at Caphe Roasters, Philadelphia's first Vietnamese specialty coffee roastery and café, where he serves a unique, contemporary Vietnamese bites.
